Vanarin (Woodworm Label) 🇮🇹

Baseball Gregg (La Barberia Records) 🇮🇹

Baseball Gregg is a Pop duo from Stockton (California) by way of Italy. Founders Luca Lovisetto and Samuel Regan met in Bologna, the former a native of the city and the latter a math student studying abroad. Their first songs took shape in a small rented room at the beginning of Via Mazzini and were recorded in a flurry of late spiring nights. Sam – after spending a year in Bologna – then returned to America at the end of march: Luca dropped him off at the airport, keeping a handful full of songs to remember their friendship. These songs would eventually become the duo’s self titled EP, Baseball Gregg. In the summer of 2015, the two friends met again, this time in California. They spent the afternoons of July and August closed in the childhood bedroom of Sam to write and record, and in a months time they had finished their debut album, Vacation: here the ‘Gregg calls upon the muses of classic producers like Thomas Dolby and Brian Wilson to create a walk-able soundscape. 36 minutes of tropical mellotrons swimming around the Pacific Ocean, from the Bay to Shibuya, echoing Hiroshi Sato and Eiichi Ohtaki glorious 80s’ Japanese city-pop: a solid laptop-rock record which blends the Pavement genetics of a Stockton native with the Mediterranean attitude of the Belpaese. The album was released April 30th, 2016 on La Barberia Records. In the summer of 2016 the duo recorded a new EP titled Ciao for Now, released at the end of 2016: this tiny experimental pop extravaganza is an hidden gem for the lovers of Japanese storied act Yellow Magic Orchestra, German synth-lords Kraftwerk and Italian much celebrated Maestro Franco Battiato. Throughout 2017 and 2018 Samuel and Luca wrote and recorded Sleep, their second LP. The record will be out on August 3rd via Italian imprint La Barberia Records and Slovakian tape label Z Tapes, anticipated by the singles “Gemini”, “Yo Tengo” and “Welcome the Night”.
